I completely agree Palestinian health workers and indeed anyone acting in a humanitarian capacity to support others should be protected so they can work in safety.
The Foreign Office outlined to the House that it continues to have concerns about the reported attacks on health workers and healthcare facilities in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, in particular in Gaza. They regularly raise concerns about the situation with the Israeli Government, pressing them on the need for a long-term strategy to improve humanitarian conditions. Medical staff deserve protection that enable them to do their jobs in safety. The Foreign Office continues to provide funding to UNICEF and the International Committee of the Red Cross to help improve the situation for healthcare in Gaza.
I have not tabled a Parliamentary question as the Government has re-stated its position on 16th July.
